Rural Pest Control in Berkshire
Maidenhead Pest Control prides itself on providing a rural pest control service. This is where we differ from other run of the mill pest control companies. We offer:
- Traditional Mole Catching
- Rabbit Control
- Fox Control
- Deer Culling
Mole Control
We are pleased to offer our traditional mole catching service to the Maidenhead and surrounding communities. Moles are notoriously difficult to catch and most pest controllers use gas pellets to try and control moles, but in our opinion gas is not the best option to eradicate moles due to the moles feeding behaviour. So we use traps only. The setting of mole traps is a specialist skill but the results are without any doubt a far superior option, unlike with the gas method, the mole is taken out of the ground and both you (the customer) and us can actually see what we have caught. Over recent years, the mole population has exploded as the traditional mole catchers of yesteryear have died out. But don't worry, we are proud to carry on this tradition, and we will be pleased to visit your property and give you a quote to catch your moles.
Rabbit Control
Rabbits are once again on the increase as their immunity starts to grow against the dreaded disease myxomatosis. They are not only a pest to farmers and their crops, but also to home owner's prize gardens. As with the mole control, it is questionable whether gas is an effective control method for rabbits. Again, we prefer to use the traditional methods of rabbit control which involve ferrets and nets.
Fox Control
We are aware that for some, the thought of controlling foxes is an emotive subject but regardless how individuals feel about this animal the fox can sometimes become a pest in more ways than one. Most people think of the fox as a harmless thief that occasionally kills one of the farmers chickens. However the truth behind this predator is a little more complex.
By its nature, the fox is an opportunist hunter and will take advantage of the way humans live. Where other wildlife is present, the fox will be there to predate on it. Many wildlife and game reserves have to control foxes to protect more vulnerable species that are sometimes endangered.
Other situations where foxes prove to be a nuisance are when they set up home in peoples gardens. Similar to a dog, the fox will mark its territory by urinating on the immediate surroundings, the health hazards involved with this (especially where young children playing in the vicinity are concerned) should be a serious consideration.
We use the latest control methods available to us and we ensure that all nuisance foxes are dealt with in a humane fashion.
